Joseph Jankovic born in 1937 is a Slovak sculptor, teacher and organizer of activities on the art scene during the socialist period, painter and graphic artist.

He studied at the Bratislava Academy of Fine Arts (1956 - 1962), the studio founder of modern Slovak sculpture. He is the author of many especially monumental figural reliefs and sculptures in public space. In 1968 Jankovic won a major international price -the Grand prix Danuvius in Bratislava. In 1983 he was awarded the Herder price in Vienna . Joseph Jankovic is one of the founders of computer graphics in Slovakia. As the only Slovak sculptor he is represented in the collection of contemporary art EPAD open air, in ultramodern district of La Defense in Paris.
